On Friday we kicked off the first session for Freedom to Express, our 7 week project working with children with special education needs and disabilities. Run by artists Marie Louise Plum and Saber Ali (with volunteering help from Ruth Pickard, these sessions are designed for children to experiment and explore without judgement. In the first week we learnt monoprinting, a form of printmaking.
We got messy with lots of colourful paints and the children produced some fantastic work with elements from our wellbeing garden and much more. We’re looking forward to the next session already!
This project is part of our year-long Freedom to Be project, working with 3 different communities on the theme of freedom. We’ll be exhibiting some of the work made later this summer.
