Last Friday our concert Music and Mind took place in the main reception area of the Kentish Town Health Centre in which we are based.
It was a sold out event with over 120 people attending to hear a diverse programme of music performed by the Alkyona String Quartetand Kuljit Bhamraon the Indian Tabla. The musical programme was chosen by the musicians and NWLive a newly formed organisation with whom we co hosted the event. The theme of all the music was an exploration of the way in which music impacts on the mental wellbeing of those listening and the relation to the individual mental wellbeing of those writing it.
In addition to a programme of music there were performances of written works on the same theme and excitingly new works produced over the course of our three workshops held on site.
NWLive has been formed to curate unique classical music experiences in community venues in the local area.
We are happy to be working with NWLive on two more concerts in 2019 Music & Body and Music & Soul do sign which will also involve workshops creating material which will ultimately be performed in the concert.
